Bio

I am currently in my third and final year of my degree here at Anglia Ruskin. I have studied right through education since the start of school and have achieved 12 A*-C GCSE’s and was Head Boy. I went on to study A-Levels at college where I got 3 A-Levels and 2 AS-Levels. I studied ICT and that inspired me to take a degree in this subject at University.

Through this course I have learnt many new skills and software packages. These include: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Premier Pro, 3Ds Maxx, Celtx, Logic Pro and Audiocity. This course has covered many different types of multimedia and I have found the most interesting area to be web design. I have created a couple of websites for family friends, which has helped me improve my knowledge and skills with web based design.

I am a hardworking individual who likes to learn new skills and interact with people. When I finish my degree I hope to go into the web industry.

Digital Imaging

For this module the assignment required me to use our photography skills learnt through the lectures to create images that portrayed a specific topic. For this image the subject was studio portraiture and I used a Canon EOS 500D using the manual settings. (Aperture – f8, Exposure – ¼, ISO – 200, Lens – 18-55mm) I used the university studio for the shot and used studio lights. Connecting a flash cable to the camera allowed the flash to go off at the same time as the shot. The Image was then edited in Adobe Photoshop.

Design for the Internet

This module was a first year project where I had to create a webpage of an interest using pure html and css coding in notepad. I chose cricket as my theme as I have a strong interest and enjoy playing the sport, I decided that as cricket is a gentlemens game my webpage should look professional but also classy. First I created a css style sheet which would include all the layout and design structures followed by the html which included the content. I really enjoyed this module and has made me want to create more websites and a career in web design.

2D Animation

The assignment for this module required me to follow a pre-written script and create a new treatment, script and storyboard to portray the script given. The project was based on Czechoslovakia 1968 and this was reflected in my animation. I decided to create an animation that used imagery and words to convey the way Czechoslovakia was at the time. I drew my images and then scanned them and created the animation in Adobe Flash.
